Poultry

First video was eaten by my poor skills with my camera phone. It may have to wait till this weekend to re shoot it as it is too dark after work to re shoot the video.

Here is the first duck video

Here is the second duck video

Lastly here is a quick video of my lovely wife turning out some pasta from the fresh eggs.

Week 2 Foraging

Hey guys here are this week's videos. We have a lot going on at the farm this week and at my day job as well.

Some quick notes.

I probably won't be hosting the G+ chat as I had originally hoped. Maybe later in the course once I have mastered the rest of the new skills I am working on.
If one of you wants to set up the weekly video chat I would say go for it! I will try and make it to the discussion

Here is the link to the universal edibility test I mentioned in the first video

Second is a link to a fellow blogger Merriwether's post about finding enough calories to thrive by foraging.

And I also wanted to link to another friend in my neck of the woods that makes some great meals from wild foods.
His name is Brett Laidlaw and his excellent blog and book go by the same name.
Trout Caviar

Hope these links can help you learn to see the world of edible possibilities around you.

First video

Here is the first two videos. I am still working out how to do this from a technical perspective. I hope to have even better videos for you next week.

Thanks

This will be the place where we create the syllabus and perhaps even write the manual for the reddit Homesteading 101 class.

Welcome!
